What Southern Governor’s Said About Impeaching Buhari

What Southern Governors said about impeaching Buhari. There have been calls for the removal of the current Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari.

This might be attributed to the growing insecurity in the country and harsh cost of living. Life has now become unbearable for the common man. The exchange rate of dollar has risen to it’s highest. The economy on the other hand is almost crumbling.

Nothing seems to be working. From Boko Haram terorism to kidnapping. And now agitations for a breakaway. Virtually there has not been help or any social investment from anywhere. Due that Nigerians from different quarters have demanded the resignation of President Buhari. Most especially, the South Eastern part of the country.

Well it seems the Governors of the 17 Southern Governors dodn’t share the same perpectives with their people. They gave a different view of what should be done.

According to the Chairman of the Southern Governor’s, Rotimi Akeredolu President Buhari has made a lot of developmental projects. Governor Rotimi also agreed that more need to be done. The governors urged the President to arrest the economic situation of the country.

 Rotimi Akeredolu, said have all they agreed that the people of Southern Nigeria remain committed to the unity of Nigeria based on justice, fairness, equity and oneness. They also want a Nigeria were there would be peaceful co-existence between and among its peoples. In addition to having a focus on the attainment of shared goals for economic development and prosperity.

The Governor’s also adopted some resolutions which they all affirmed to it.

In their words, “Consequently, the meeting resolved that open grazing of cattle be banned across southern Nigeria.

In their words they agreed that the progress of the nation requires that urgent and bold steps be taken, to restructure the Nigerian federation. This will in turn lead to the evolution of state police.

Furthermore, it will also help review how revenue allocation formula would be distributed in favour of the sub-national governments. And also on the creation of other institutions, which legitimately advance our commitment to and practice of true federalism.

In ddittion to that, they were also concerned about the widespread agitations, among our various peoples. This was instituted because they want a greater inclusiveness in existing governance arrangements.

In the meeting, the governors recommended the activation and establishment of ports in other states of the federation to create new jobs and promote socio-economic activities in the country.

The Southern governors also expressed their concern about the economic implications of another lockdown on the country. They, therefore, suggested greater coordination and cooperation between Federal and State Governments in evolving strategies for dealing with the 

Rotimi Akeredolu mentioned that the Federal Government should convene a national dialogue as a matter of urgency.

Inclusion, the governor’s are not concerned about the Impeachment of President Buhari. They are rather concerned about how government can bring the country as one.

The Governors also want the Buhari administration to man up and arrest the dingling economic situation in the country. And how the ordinary Nigerian would be affected positively.
