WAEC releases results, mass failure recorded. The West African Examination Council has released the 2020/2021 WAEC results. The examination took place amids the Corona Virus. There was uncertainty on whether the candidates will write the exams.

The exams was eventually written. Candidates all over Nigeria took part in the examination. Some states were ready while others were not. The WAEC examination serves as the most popular examination in Nigeria for gaining admission into the University.

Although other bodies like NABTEC and NECO examinations exist, WAEC mostly has the highest number of candidates. Some Federal University in Nigeria, still give more priority to WAEC for their admission. This is why many people are opting the WAEC examination. Well finally the results have been released.

This was made public through the public, through a press release from the WAEC board. The results is generally poor. Only 30.11 percent of the candidates were able to obtained 5 credits, including Mathematics and English language.

Breakdown analysis of the statistics of the performance of candidates shows that out of the 7,289 candidates that sat for the examination, 2,938 candidates, representing 40.31 per cent, obtained credit and above in a minimum of any five subjects (with or without English.

“Language and Mathematics, out of which 1,396 were male and 1,542 were female candidates, representing 47.52 per cent and 52.48 per cent respectively.”

“Two thousand one hundred and ninety-five (2,195) candidates, representing 30.11per cent, obtained credits and above in a minimum of five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics,” he added.

Areghan said that the results of 599 candidates, representing 8.22 per cent of the total number of candidates that sat the examination, were being withheld, according to the Punch report.
