Religous rites turned sour as Nigeria socialite Kayode Badru Burnt to death.
Popular Nigerian socialite, Kayode Badru gets burnt to death in a Celestial Church in Lagos
The popular Nigerian socialite, Kayode Badru, has died at a hospital in Gbagada, Lagos. This was after his body was engulfed in fire during a programme and prayer session at a Celestial Church of Christ.
According to reports, Kayode Badru died on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. Before his death, Kayode Badru came to Lagos from Dubai to attend the graduation ceremony of 40 students. They were students he gave scholarships to study at Academy For Innovative Art and Technology – ( ACIATECH).
The event took place at Excellence Hotel Conference hall Ogba Aguda, Ijaiye
After attending the graduation ceremony, Kayode decided to visit his church on Wednesday for a religous right called Isegun – (Victory) programme.
The when the religous right commenced, he was asked to kneel down at the middle of the church and was surrounded with white candles. He also held one candle in his hands.
This was a practiced of the celestial churches in Nigeria.
While kneeling down, a prophet began to spray perfume on his body. But within a few minutes, his body was on fire due to his closeness to the candles and strong attraction from the perfume.
Perfumes mostly contains alcohol which can ignite fire. Most full perfumes are made of about 10-20% perfume oils dissolved in alcohol and a trace of water. Colognes contain approximately 3-5% oil diluted in 80-90% alcohol, with water making up about 10%.
Kayode Badru was rushed to a hospital in Gbagada, where he eventually died. This is really sad for a man who has his people at heart. Kayode Badru would be greatly missed for his selfless service to humanity.
In my opinion some uncalled religous rights should be banned. There are two many unnecessary fetish obligations that should be abolish.
